Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This policy explains what happens to the information you give us when you join the Outro waitlist. We keep it deliberately small: an email address and a referral code, nothing more.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Outro, the project behind joinoutro.com. For any question about your data, or to exercise the rights below, write to contact@joinoutro.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you submit the waitlist form.
- A referral code generated for you, and the code of whoever invited you (if you arrived through an invite link), so we can rank the list.
- The date and time you joined.
- Your IP address, seen briefly by our hosting provider and by the anti-bot check when you submit the form. It is not stored in the waitlist.
That's it. We don't collect your name, your location, or your browsing behaviour.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email only to notify you about the Outro beta and to manage your position on the waitlist. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. We won't send you anything else without asking you first.
The anti-bot check and our server logs rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the waitlist free of automated junk.
Who processes it for us
We don't sell your data and we don't share it for anyone else's purposes. A small number of providers process it on our behalf, under data processing agreements:
- Supabase — stores the waitlist, in the eu-west-1 (Ireland) region.
- Vercel — serves this website and handles the form request.
- Cloudflare — runs the anti-bot check on the form. See https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data reaches them, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Until the beta has rolled out and the waitlist is retired, or until you ask us to delete your entry — whichever comes first. After that it's removed.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, at any time:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- withdraw your consent (we'll remove you from the list).
Just email contact@joinoutro.com and we'll take care of it.
If you think we've handled your data badly, you also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, and our website analytics are cookieless and aggregate — they never identify you. The site keeps the referral code from an invite link in your browser for the length of your visit, so the invite still counts if you wander off and come back to the form. The anti-bot check sets its own short-lived token while you're on the page. Both are functional needs, not tracking.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes that affect you will be communicated by email.
